The biomass boiler of the Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire heating district was inaugurated on Wednesday 18 April 2018.
In an approach related to sustainable development, and with the help of ADEME, the city has decided to create a public heat distribution service using locally available renewable energy – wood – in a neighborhood where are located public facilities and collective dwellings. The network of more than 4.4 km is powered by a wood / gas boiler of 8.2 MW including a wood boiler COMPTE.R of 4.2 MW.
This creation will reduce CO2 emissions from fossil energy, substitute it with local renewable energy and consolidate the wood sector established in this sector.
