The manufacture of an 8 MW boiler for the Limagrain site in Saint Mathurin is underway in our workshops.
Limagrain, an agricultural cooperative owned by French farmers and an international seed group, has invested in a COMPTE.R boiler, which will be fuelled by corn cobs from the company’s own production.
In 2013, COMPTE.R already installed a corn cob steam boiler for Limagrain, on the Ennezat site, to power its drying unit.
Corn cob has all the characteristics of an agrofuel, with a calorific value equivalent to that of forestry chips, and is easy to use given its size. As a result, industrial seed producers have taken an interest in using corn cobs as an energy source to dry their products.
Research into the combustion of corn cob has enabled COMPTE.R to develop solutions adapted to agrofuels and other solid biomasses.
