The City of Sarrebourg has awarded ENGIE Solutions the contract for the construction and operation of its 5 MW biomass boiler plant.

This project is part of the “Climate Plan” of the Sarrebourg-Moselle-Sud community of municipalities, with the objectives of decarbonation, optimisation of local resources and offering users an economically interesting and stable energy solution.

The 8 km long heating network will be equipped with a COMPTE.R. boiler. Fuelled with local wood taken from within a 50 km radius of Sarrebourg, it will produce 85% of the heat required, so as to eventually serve 2,900 housing equivalents.

The commissioning of biomass boiler is scheduled in autumn 2021.
