In autumn 2023, work will start on the construction of a heating network in La Talaudière, with commissioning scheduled for September 2024.

This 10th district heating network, managed by Saint-Etienne Métropole, will contribute to the widespread use of renewable energies in urban areas and town centres.

COMPTE.R will equip the La Talaudière district heating network with two 600 kW biomass boilers, each with its own wood unloading and conveying system using scraper ladders and a conveyor, and its own filtration system consisting of a multicyclone and a bag filter. This equipment will cover 87% of the local annual heating and hot water requirements.

The boilers will be fuelled with wood chips.
