The heating network in Saint-Chamond, the third largest town in the Loire department, has been in operation since 2013. The city of Saint-Chamond, via the SIEL (Syndicat Intercommunal d’Energies du département de la Loire), entrusted Scévia, a subsidiary of Dalkia, with its construction and operation.

Supplied by a 5.8 km biomass-natural gas installation, the existing network provides heating and domestic hot water for the equivalent of 2,900 homes.

In order to continue to follow its ambitious programme in terms of sustainable development and energy cost control for its inhabitants, the town of Saint-Chamond has entrusted Scévia, the service provider, with the extension of the heating network.

To equip the new boiler room, COMPTE.R will supply a 4400 kW biomass boiler.  Fuelled by wood chips supplied by a platform located in Monistrol sur Loire within a radius of 80 km of the town of Saint-Chamond, this installation will prevent the release of an additional 6,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
